Vazha Chachava is the most outstanding ensemble-pianists of our time, famous musician,
graduate from V. Saradjishvili Tbilisi State Conservatoire. In 1962-1977 he taught at the Tbilisi
State Conservatoire and worked as an accompanist at Tbilisi Opera and Ballet Theatre. His partners
were: I. Arkhipova, N. Andguladze, M. Palm,, L. Kazarnovskaia and others. More than 25 years he
has been the constant accompanist of E. Obraztsova.
Vazha Chachava is Professor, Head of the Accompanying Art Chair at the P. Tchaikovsky
State Conservatory. He is the author of several publications, regularly conducts master classes.
He is a jury member of numerous international singing competitions and the festival "Golden Mask".
He is holder of several distinctions, among them: People's Artist of Georgia, Honorary Fellow of
the Russian Academy of Art and Musical Performances, Honorary Maestro of the Society "Verdi's
Friends".
